Termite Treatments

Termites or white ants as they are also referred to can enter your property via:

Cracks or joins in the concrete slab
Alongside waste water pipes that pass through the concrete slab
And also through weepholes (which are located around the base of your premises.)
As noted above, termites can enter your property in numerous ways, regardless of whether the building is made of brick or timber and more often than not they will enter your premises undetected.  Termites have the capabiltity of causing extensive damage to the construction of your home and moisture is often a major contributing factor in attracting termite infestation.

So what else attracts termites to your property?

There are a number of underlying factors that will attract termites to your premises and another one of them apart from moisture, is timber lying on the ground.

So to discourage termites coming into your property we recommend the following:

Gardens and irrigations systems are to be kept as far away from the external walls of the premises as possible.
Airconditioning or hot water system overflows should be directed either further away from the property or into a drain.
Any downpipes that are broken or have rusted through should be repaired or replaced as soon as possbile.
Timber lying in the subfloor (if applicable) should be removed
Timber lying on the ground or landscaping timbers should be removed or replaced with non-susceptible (treated) material.
So how do you protect your property?

A termite treatment is your best method of protecting your property and since every property is different a qualified technician will:

Visit your premises
Assess the situation
Discuss the recommendations
Present you with a written quotation
Please note we do not quote termite treatments over the telephone or via e-mail and in some instances the technician may feel it is necessary to carry out a termite inspection to your property prior to a written quotation being presented to you.

How will we treat your property for termites?

Treatment involves:

Drilling and injecting of termiticide into the ground, either via holes drilled through concrete paths, tiles, or pavers, etc, (pavers are lifted where possible)
And/or chemical is placed directly into the ground once a trench has been formed around the perimeter of the premises.
If drilling is required:

Holes are placed approximately 300mm out from the edge of the building and are drilled at approximately 150-200mm intervals out, but against the footings and are carried out according to the Australian Standards AS3660.2.
All holes are resealed once termiticide has been injected.
Treatment to all soil areas are:

Original soil is back-filled after chemical has been injected into the ground.
And the barrier is brought back to the top surface to create as much protection to the property as possible.
Please note, upon completion of the termite treatment to your property, we endeavour to ensure that your premises are left as clean, neat and tidy as possible, so you find your experience with our company to be a smooth and reassuring one.
